The Computer Science Department at CSU Dominguez Hills invites applications for one (1) position of Full-Time Lecturer. The department seeks outstanding, innovative, and visionary individuals who are committed to promoting and fostering excellence in teaching. The position is available beginning August 2017.
The responsibility of the full-time lecture position is mainly teaching, which may consist of day, evening, and weekend hours. Additional responsibilities may include service consistent with the mission of the University, the College of Natural and Behavioral Sciences, and the Department of Computer Science.
The Computer Science Department
The department offers a B.S. degree program in Computer Science (accredited by CSAB/CSAC), a M.S. degree program in Computer Science, a B.S. degree program in Information Technology, a B.A. degree program in Computer Technology, and is planning to offer a M.A. degree in Cyber Security (pending approval). The department has a total of about 680 majors, and receives strong support from campus administrators and local industry. The department’s web page may be found at http://csc.csudh.edu.
Our company provides products and services to fairs, festivals and events. This position is the primary technical support for our clients using our POS machines and scanners. If you enjoy travel and face to face interactions with customers, read on.
The POS Field Technician is responsible for making sure that all POS equipment orders are processed accurately and in a timely manner. He/she also serves as main tech support contact and works with the sales dept. to configure equipment properly or find the right equipment necessary for an event. As an IT specialist he is responsible for maintenance of office systems and IT work as necessary.
Other duties as directed by management.
Must meet the following minimum requirements:
- 2 Year College or equivalent work experience
- Excellent knowledge of Linux, MySQL
- Internet networking skills
- Fast learner and ability to take charge, attention to detail a plus
- Understanding and knowledge in office programs
- Excellent organization and communication skills
- Excellent with customer interaction

Are you seeking an internship that would expose you to a wide variety of engineering tasks on large scale, complex projects? Parsons is seeking an Engineering Intern to work on various transportation and water related projects throughout the summer. This is a great opportunity to experience how engineering is accomplished by a world class, globally respected firm.
Under direction of a degreed engineer, you will perform a variety of basic engineering support assignments that require a fundamental knowledge of design/drafting standards, practices, and techniques. You will utilize a CAD workstation to prepare engineering drawings consisting of basic arrangements, layouts, as-builts, etc. from rough sketches and/or from general engineering and design information in accordance with established standards and procedures. You will be asked to review technical manuals to become familiar with industry codes, regulatory standards and company policies. Additionally, you will compile data and perform dimensional and routine calculations required for the preparation of drawings. Assignments are designed to help you develop a practical knowledge of the engineering discipline.

This is a paid summer intern position designed to give a community college age youth the opportunity to gain practical work experience through training and performing assignments.
Education and Experience

Required Skills and Abilities to:

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) has announced new opportunities are currently available for college freshman and sophomores majoring in information technology or accounting and seeking a summer corporate internship. Internship placements are with corporate partners in: Boston, Connecticut, Dallas, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle, Silicon Valley, Washington, DC, New York, Milwaukee, and Charlotte.
Internships are paid. The program dates are June 2 – Aug. 12, 2017 or June 15 – Aug. 26, 2017 for students that attend institutions on a quarter calendar. Applications will be accepted until all positions are filled.
The CSUDH Department of Mathematics encourages all qualified majors to apply for the Will Armacost Memorial Scholarship ($750 – mathematics majors) and the Marcie Stewart Memorial Scholarship ($750 – STEM majors) for the 2017-2018 academic year. Wichita State University’s Research Experiences for Undergraduates in NetCPS program is an opportunity for undergraduate students to spend a summer working with faculty researchers renowned in areas such as computer networks, mobile computing, wireless communications, and information security and privacy. A number of projects are available in diverse areas. Accepted students will work closely with WSU faculty and researchers on research problems with the potential for publications and significant impact on the future practice of various networked CPS.

Join us at Stanford for an interdisciplinary summer research experience program in the cognitive sciences!
At the Center for the Study of Language and Information, interns will work closely with a faculty, postdoc, or grad student mentor on an original cognitive science research project. They will gain experience developing the project, collecting data, and analyzing the results. In addition to their individual projects, interns will attend weekly mentorship meetings and seminars with such topics as reading a scientific paper, introduction to data analysis, statistics and visualization, and presentation skills. The program will culminate with each intern presenting their work to an interdisciplinary audience. Accepted students will receive a stipend of $5,000 sufficient to cover travel, room, and board.
The Institute of Collaborative Biotechnologies at UC Santa Barbara is offering a 10-week paid Summer Applied Biotechnology Research Experience (SABRE) from June 19 – August 25, 2017. Students from all science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines are encouraged to apply.
