Biography
Ali Jalooli is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at California State University, Dominguez Hills. His research focuses on secure and intelligent networked systems, spanning edge AI, cybersecurity, IoT, wireless networking, and privacy-preserving computing. His work explores how emerging AI technologies can be efficiently and securely integrated into distributed environments, including cloud-edge architectures, embedded systems, and next-generation communication networks. Current research includes secure networking protocols, resource-aware optimization, privacy-preserving communication mechanisms, and multimodal large language model (LLM) systems for healthcare and other data-sensitive applications.
Ali's research aims to bridge theoretical advances and real-world deployment by developing practical solutions that improve the performance, reliability, and security of modern connected systems. Through collaborations with industry and academic partners, he also works on AI-driven network analytics, intelligent telemetry interpretation, and edge computing technologies that support scalable and trustworthy infrastructure. His research has been supported by more than $2 million in external funding from agencies including the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS). He actively contributes to the research community through editorial service, conference organization, and peer review for leading journals and conferences.
